Beginner’s Courses

Bannockburn Bowmen Archery Club runs beginners’ courses for those interested in learning more about the sport. Courses usually take place in the autumn and at the start of the year. We do not offer private lessons. The course covers: basic shooting techniques; safety rules; introduction to scoring; and an introduction to the basic rules of shooting. The course runs for 4 sessions and all sessions must be attended. We provide all the equipment that you will need along with a handbook.

You should ensure that you wear tops with tight fighting sleeves and shoes must be suitable for wearing in a sports hall. All applicants must be aged 12 or over. The courses are advertised on our website and in the local press. All courses have a limited number of spaces, and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Courses must be booked and paid for in advance. Once you have completed the course you may apply for membership of the club, although it should be noted that completion of the course doesn’t guarantee acceptance for membership and, if accepted, there may be a waiting list for membership.
