Come ‘n’ Try Events

Bannockburn Bowmen’s mission is to promote and encourage the sport of Archery.  To this end, we organise archery taster sessions and activities for public and corporate events which also provides valuable extra income for our Club.We have participated in the annual Stirling Highland Games, Plean Fun Day, Network Rail’s  ‘No Messing’ campaign and Thornhill Gala with our Come ‘ n’ Try events.Bannockburn Bowmen helped to man the ‘Have A Go’ sessions for the general public at the Archery World Cup Final 2010 event in Edinburgh where our cameo role can be seen on a BBC Sport report!  The Club runs at least one public Taster Session a year – usually in the summer. The Taster Session is always advertised well in advance on this website, and it’s also publicised in the local press. We have also held private Taster Sessions for NHS Forth Valley and the Bridge of Allan Rotary Club.  Taster sessions are an occasional group shooting session for people who would like to try archery for an evening.  For private Taster Sessions, a minimum of 10 participants is required for an outdoor shooting session and 15 for an indoor shooting session. If you would like us to be part of your event , or provide an taster session for your group or corporation, please contact the Club Secretary for further information.
