The Heather Urquhart Memorial Salver for Best Clout

posted 29 Jul 2011, 05:30 by Bannockburn Bowmen   [ updated 29 Jul 2011, 07:07 ]
This perpetual trophy is to be presented to the archer achieving the Best Clout during the Bannockburn Open Day of Clout.

It has been donated to the Club by Brenda Williams in memory of her good friend, the talented, and truly unique, longbow and compound archer, Heather Urquhart (Loreburn Archers), who sadly died earlier this year. Heather was a great supporter of Clout archery and travelled all over the UK to compete, always managing to fit a trip to Bannockburn into her hectic timetable.

The Salver was won by Peter Gregory of Stalybridge Archers (Cheshire Archery Asso) who secured a clout 3cm from the flag in the first end of the GNAS Clout at 180yrds. Many atempts were made to beat him during the day but none succeeded!

Well done Peter, and we hope to welcome you back to defend the trophy next year !
